Membership Payments – Direct Debit


Thank you for completing your membership application form.

So that you can make payments with us quickly and safely, our preferred payment method for accepting membership subscriptions is now Direct Debit, and we have teamed up with GoCardless to manage this on our behalf.  

We have summarised the main benefits of using Direct Debit as your payment method:

  • Secure payments: Payments move directly from your bank account to ours and you are protected under the Direct Debit Guarantee.
  • Automated payments: Once set up, you never have to worry about manually making a payment – it works automatically for your convenience and peace of mind.
  • Bank accounts never expire: There’s no need to update your payment details, as your bank account doesn’t expire, ensuring error-free payments.
  • Early notifications and cancel any time: You will be notified a minimum of 2 days before a payment is taken and you can cancel your payments any time directly from your bank account for added flexibility.

Setting up a Direct Debit is very straightforward:

Just click on the class of membership you have chosen from the list below, and you will be taken to our Direct Debit provider GoCardless’s web portal and asked to set up your direct debit mandate to cover your membership payments.

  • Fill out the form with your name and bank details. You will need your bank account number, sort code and email address.

  • Once you have provided your bank account details, payments will be deducted automatically. Remember you can cancel these any time directly with your bank and you are protected by the Direct Debit Guarantee if a payment is ever taken in error. You will be notified by our GoCardless a minimum of 2 days prior to the payment being deducted from your account. 

Additional Donations

If you have agreed to make an additional donation, we will set this up separately in accordance with your wishes stated on the application form, and have it confirmed in the same way.  

If you don’t have an email address, or would prefer not to set up a Direct Debit payment process, other ways to pay your subscription are as follows;

  1. Online by debit or credit card – please get in touch with the membership secretary for details
  2. Standing order – you will need to set up the instruction with your bank yourself
  3. BACS transfer (online banking) or a cheque.
