Our Malswick Team meet on site every Tuesday at Newent where they are working on clearing unwanted material from the platforms, sorting out trees and removing undergrowth to show the avenue of Pine Trees. Further work this year will be repairing the platform wall brickwork. These platforms are the only remaining artifacts of the old station and require substantial brickwork reclaim / renovation and pointing tasks. The reconstruction of other long-since-disappeared station buildings is subject to planning permission which is being actively pursued. Long lead-time activities on this front include ground investigations and ecological / biodiversity assessments

The Malswick Team are currently working on re-creating two new sections of canal channel totalling approximately 1300m in length. Formation of one of the new canal channels itself is well advanced, but a great deal of work still needs to be progressed including creation of a towpath, fence and hedge boundaries, wetlands and woodland habitats. Construction work on the second section should start early in 2025. New volunteers will be made more than welcome and there are many opportunities to learn (or teach) new skills.
