Our Yarkhill team meets on a Thursday and are currently working along the Monkhide section of canal clearing the incursion of willows that has occured over recent years. The also continue their to maintain the previously cleared 1200 metre canal corridor at Yarkhill for the benefit of local walkers pending an opportunity to complete restoration by refilling this section of canal with water. New volunteers will be made more than welcome and there are many opportunities to learn (or teach) new skills. Please do contact the site leader if you are coming so we can confirm our plans for the day concerned and give directions to the site.

Starting at 9:30 AM and continuing until 3:00 PM

at The Yarkhill project extends northwestwards from the A4103 at Crew's Pitch, 1700m north of Yarkhill village and just west of Monkhide

Location - A4103 Crew's Pitch HR1 3SU

More details available from Chris High / Contact Chris by email to yarkhill@h-g-canal.org.uk

Volunteering activities typically start at around 9.00am, and most sites wrap up about 3:00pm ... some finish earlier or later.  As volunteers, it is up to you how much time you are on site for - we just ask that you let the site leader know you are leaving site. Examples of the work undertaken by volunteers on site can be seen on our YouTube channel. There are many other opportunities to volunteer that are not necessarily site based - see more on our Volunteering Webpages.
