Our Oxenhall team meets on site every Tuesday and operate on the oldest part of the restored canal corridor.

Volunteering activities typically start at around 9.00am, and most sites wrap up about 3:00pm ... some finish earlier or later.  As volunteers, it is up to you how much time you are on site for - we just ask that you let the site leader know you are leaving site.

Work consists of upkeep of the national footpath that goes through the site and of the permissive paths that the H&G Canal Trust has created for the benefit of walkers from near and afar.

Future plans include complete restoration, or to be more accurate, reconstruction of the two missing lock structures in the former Oxenhall flight, and the recreation of the canal channel as far as the site of Newent's former railway station.

Examples of the work undertaken by volunteers on site can be seen on our YouTube channel.

There are many other opportunities to volunteer that are not necessarily site based - see more on our Volunteering Webpages.
