Raising funds for and awareness of the Trust’s work is vital in maintaining progress with the Canal’s restoration.

Our Sales and Information Stand can be seen at many Waterways and Country Shows during the year.

We have two small teams of volunteers based at Hereford and Gloucester to cover both local and national events.

Why not have a good day out with the H&G CT?

Come and visit, or better still, join us on the stand – We cannot promise that you will see the world with us but you may visit an area that is new to you – and we always do our utmost to ensure that you have some time to look around – and your admission to the event will be free!
We urgently need additional volunteers to help us at these interesting events.

Our small but well-established teams will make you very welcome!  Please contact us to discuss where and when you can get involved.

Herefordshire Histories Festival is brand new to the county this year, so we are happy to join in.

We do have some other events that are possible but need to work with our volunteers’ availability. The more volunteers the merrier – are you going to put your hand up?

We will provide updates in the Wharfinger and on the email newsletter. As they say – watch this space!

Diary to date – as far as we know it!

Spring Fayre in Newent
Herefordshire Histories Festival – 2 days for H&G
Minibus Tour of canal in Herefordshire
Display at Yarkhill Village Hall and Walks
Ledbury Community Day
Newent Open Event
Braunston Historic Boats
Hereford Waterworks Steam Day
Severn Vale Vintage Show, Fiddington, Tewkesbury
Heritage Week – displays in Ledbury and Newent
Newent Winter Fayre

As always – volunteers to assist us in attending these events will be very welcome.

Please email the site leader before coming as we may be elsewhere on the day you decide to come and visit – we would hate to miss you.

Not sure which site or you would like to just chat about volunteering with the H&G Canal Trust?

Please email us at  volunteering@h-g-canal.org.uk

We at the Trust are keen to expand our operations on our current sites, and to build additional teams to work on new sites at locations such as Newent Station.

In particular, we are looking for new Team Leaders – so if you would like to be involved in the leadership of a site please contact us with an email to  volunteering@h-g-canal.org.uk.
